Over the years, various companies have offered free sample packs of audio loops in the Apple Loops format for use in GarageBand or Logic. Not infrequently, these loop packs later disappear from the Internet, making them difficult to recover if you accidentally lose your local copies.
I recently had this very problem. Somewhere in the course of a transatlantic move that concided with upgrading the computer and various external hard drives, some of my loop collection had gone missing; when trying to revisit an old GarageBand project, it complained of missing loops on launch, provoking a desperate search. Luckily, a kind soul from an online music forum came to my rescue and supplied me with replacement copies from their horde -- but it seems only right that I likewise share the wealth in case others find themselves in my situation.
